Briggs Partners with PilotFish to Provide Interoperability to Paperless Forms Workflow
February 26, 2018 – Briggs Healthcare® introduced eBriggs to the healthcare market as its digital plug-and-play content solution that offers full integration between HTML and advanced PDF technology. Now, Briggs has partnered with PilotFish – a leader in healthcare interoperability – to offer eBriggs Powered by PilotFish. By combining eBriggs electronic forms with the PilotFish interface engine, eBriggs now offers its customers a lightweight, flexible means to integrate forms data and clinical documentation with EMRs and other systems and processes.
With eBriggs Powered by PilotFish, customers gain access to the broad set of assets in the eBriggs forms library, along with the ability to fill, search, save and query those forms. The combination of the eBriggs and PilotFish products allows Briggs customers to introduce these capabilities with very little technology support or customization. For those with more ambitious interoperability requirements, eBriggs Powered by PilotFish makes it possible for forms to easily, quickly and seamlessly be integrated into any EMR workflow.
Implementation of eBriggs Powered by PilotFish is delivering a quantifiable return on investment, both through cost avoidance and revenue optimization. The implementation of paperless forms workflows reduces administrative time spent re-keying data, printing, scanning, and filing. Data quality checks help to ensure regulatory requirements and to maximize opportunities for remuneration. Patient safety and clinical outcomes also dramatically benefit from more accurate and more timely information available more quickly at the point of care.
“Ever since the introduction of the eBriggs forms library, we have seen the potential of allowing our users to ‘save, retrieve, and print’ these forms from their EMR. The implementation efforts involved had been a barrier in realizing that potential. Now that we have partnered with PilotFish, we have made it easier for our clients to adopt electronic forms into their workflow. Lightweight implementations “just work” right out-of-the-box, which is a significant win for those with limited IT support and bandwidth. At the same time, flexible interoperability enabled by PilotFish allows forms data to be readily integrated anywhere,” said Sherry Anderson, Director – eSolutions at Briggs Healthcare.
The interoperability facilitated by PilotFish solution offer EMRs the capability to integrate forms as tightly with their systems as desired. The eBriggs Powered by PilotFish solution can operate as a standalone, with its own browser-based forms management interface and backing datastore, allowing low-touch integration alongside any other system. The solution may also be more tightly integrated using a REST API and/or a set of standards-based interoperability templates. This allows deeply integrated implementations of eBriggs Powered by PilotFish to pre-populate forms from EMR data or to store discrete data elements from the form in the patient’s electronic medical record.
“We are thrilled to partner with Briggs to deliver what we believe represents the most fully-featured, robust, and readily interoperable forms management solution in the market. We are excited by the feedback we are receiving and the value we are creating for our early adopters – and are looking forward to the continued rollout of this comprehensive offering to the post-acute care and healthcare community at large,” commented Monika Vainius, Executive Vice President at PilotFish.
