Who We Hire
PilotFish recruits U.S.-based software engineers with a strong foundation in enterprise integration and data exchange. This role is best suited for engineers who are comfortable working independently, understand industry standards, and take pride in building software that must perform reliably over time.
Technical Requirements
What We Look For
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience
- Proficiency in Java and XSLT
- Hands-on experience with industry data standards, including:
- HL7
- X12 EDI
- ACORD
- Other XML-based standards
- Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining production integrations
Hiring Process
PilotFish uses a structured, skills-based hiring process to evaluate real-world integration expertise. Candidates who advance beyond the initial review and interview complete an independent integration challenge similar to the work our engineers perform.
The exercise typically takes several hours to a few days. Submissions are evaluated using predefined technical criteria and scored objectively on a 1–10 scale. This helps ensure alignment between role requirements and each candidate’s technical strengths.
